Dr. DONG Yang

Dr. Dong Yang, Professor‑level Engineer, Ph.D. from Tsinghua University. She currently serves as Deputy Chief Engineer of Smart Water Design & Research Institute, Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. She is also a member of the Youth Workers Committee of China Urban Water Association, and a member of the Youth Federation of Shanghai State‑owned Assets System.

She has long been engaged in research and practical work on resilient city development, smart municipal infrastructure, and key‑technology R&D for urban water‑system analysis. She has led and participated in 30 research projects, and compiled 9 monographs and standards related to smart municipal engineering.

She has achieved pioneering innovations in the fields of water-affairs digital twin and model algorithms, tackling multiple technical challenges including process simulation and complex-system model construction. Meanwhile, she focuses on the in-depth integration of core algorithms and platform carriers, and has developed core application scenarios featuring monitoring & inspection, fault diagnosis, risk early-warning and emergency response. Projects she participated in have been repeatedly selected as Typical Cases of Smart Water Affairs issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, as well as Excellent Cases of Smart Water Conservancy of Shanghai.

Her personal accolades include the Special Prize of Science and Technology Award of China Urban Water Association, Shanghai Oriental Talent Program (Youth Project), Shanghai Youth Science and Technology Rising Stars, and the First Prize of Fujian “Data Elements ×” Competition.
